Beginnings!

In the middle of tradeshow season it is important to remember that all tradeshows start the same: A blank


canvas made of concrete.

Does not matter how big or small. So when the set begins for the show they all look the same.

Makes for an interesting project since in a short time this space was a 30x30 tradeshow booth, and then in 3 days the tradeshow was over, and now the tradeshow booth is in our facility ready for storage. It is a Tradeshow Cycle. (More on that later!)

But from a blank concrete canvas where it starts, it finishes a blank concrete canvas. With a lot of business in the middle of those two canvases!

30 Minutes In............

 ...and you are already 2 hours behind.


One component of Tradeshow Season is the actual tradeshow. This weekend and next weekend the

Exhibit Associates teams will be setting up tradeshow booths. Long Beach, Chicago, Dallas, DC, and Atlanta are some of the towns we will be setting up booths in these two weekends. A lot of work.

In Chicago and DC we have some big booths. The saying is - "You are 2 hours behind." Even 30 minutes in. Time is the enemy. Yeah this month we have been highlighting Tradeshow Season and you need to get moving to get your booth ready.

But this is different. Time is really against you. Anything, any issue can cause stress. Every task is one broken bolt from being a 2 hour shit show.

So when you get on the floor. Say "Thank you, this looks great." Then ask your questions: "I thought the graphics would be different?" "How come you are not done yet?" "Where are the brochures?" "Where's Bob?"

Time is not your friend.

22 Days Left to September

 And only 114 Days to the End of The Year. 2023 is almost here. And the start of 2023 is January which has CES, Shot Show and a host of other tradeshows to kick off Tradeshow Season 2023.

But right now we are in the 1st week of this Tradeshow Season. And it is no joke. The amount of new meetings being had by Exhibit Associates for new booths from existing and new clients is picking up.


With that when you call you exhibit house, be clear on what you want. "I have a 10x10 and want to keep it under $2,000.00" or "I have to make an impact for my brand and I have $15,000.00 to make that happen." The normal sales dance takes time, which you may not have any of to spend. Going to another exhibit house? No problem. Open and fair competition is great. The "I'm best friends with your competition but my boss wants me to get two quotes" is a waste of time for the non-best friend.

Time is running out. Tradeshow Season is underway.

"Winter is Coming"

 Time.


It's the one thing we have a limited and endless amount. Limited - yes we are on this planet for a limited

amount of time. Yet 10 years in the future is forever in the future.

In Game of Thrones it was the deadline of winter coming. Which apparently lasts a varied amount of time. And in GOT so many people died in so many horrific ways time was irrelevant. You most likely were not going to die of old age. But by sword, starvation, or dragon.

Tradeshows are not that brutal. But they wait for no one. Time marches forward and every day you delay the costs and stress go up!

So to slay the dragons and survive the winter - or Tradeshow Season - Can I have another week in September? Nope.

Winter is Coming. And with it January. And with it another Tradeshow Season.

#LDT - 1st Business Day After Summer

 Really that is what today is. Kids are in school, vacations are over, and now it is time to get to work.

The "watercooler" can be tempting with talks of NASCAR playoffs just starting, college football under way, NFL about to start and baseball heading towards the playoffs. But the work is not going anywhere unless you "get after it."

And getting after it is where #LDT - Let's Do This comes from. It is actually a derivative of Tom Brady's #LFG - but I can't really right the "F" online in good conscience.

So I hope you are rested and ready to go. After all it is Tradeshow Season! #LDT

Welcome to Labor Day Weekend!

 "On the tradeshow floor right now there are labor teams working to get your tradeshow booth ready for Tuesday."

Developed as early as 1887 it is to celebrate the American labor movement and the works and

contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States.

In the Tradeshow Industry it means something special. It is the team you hire in Chicago, or in Orlando, or in Vegas or in the 100 other locations around the United States that hosts tradeshows. This team is the critical last step to your tradeshow success.

During Tradeshow Season "labor" is in short supply. These teams work on Sundays, Holidays, Saturdays, late night, early morning and sometimes Monday to Friday 9 to 5.

That is the funny part about Labor Day. People are working. Not any white collar folks, but the "Labor" that the 1st Day in September was meant to celebrate are working. Especially in the tradeshow industry.

We are working. On the tradeshow floor right now there are teams working to get your tradeshow booth ready for Tuesday.

Just remember that when you get there on Tuesday.

What it Takes

Tradeshow Season is upon us. So what? What does it mean? It means show up to close business.

Well it means business is getting done, our clients are keeping the Exhibit Associates Team busy and they are getting the ROI on their tradeshow program in terms of new clients and new revenue.

Our clients demand the best at the best pricing. Tradeshow booths are an investment - so is the tradeshow itself. The space, shipping, material handling, setup, break down and storage of your booth all costs money. There has to be a Return On Investment.

Overheard at a Industrial Tradeshow in 2019: "That was a 15 minute close that took 15 months to get." Magic does not happen. Sales teams have to work the pre-event, the event and the post event to get the ROI required. But this situation was the key decision maker, seeing the products, the team supporting the products and looking the sales person in the eyes. Boom! Sales Closed!

And if you are not there to close the deal, who will?

"What it takes" means show up, with a game plan and close business. That is all that matters. And if you & your company are not there - who are your current and future clients talking to?

Get moving. That's what it takes.

Welcome to September

 Nothing Special. Except in this industry - tradeshow industry, it gets crazy busy at exhibit houses.

Large, small, multiple locations, single location, single operator or a team of 100s -> September is the busiest month of our year.

Why?

Kids are back at school, vacations are done and the end of the year is coming. In business, in sales - December 31 is a hard deadline. How much did you sell this year?

No almosts. No discussing how you came in second place on the large deal. No "What ifs" are allowed. What is your number? Your company's number? No gray areas allowed when you record that yearly sales number.

So with it 120 days away, no summer distractions -> that deadline is coming. And there is a great way to generate leads and sales: Tradeshows!

And that is why we get busy. Stay tuned!
