Twitter Game Plan

Time to Get After It!  If you have been following along you are aware of the 4 Hacks to Improve Your Tradeshow ROI.  #1 is You need to tell people you are going!

For events -> This means @Twitter. and @Twitter, and @Twitter.  And Here is a link to get your "Twitter Game Plan".  The TGP will outline the when, and provide the tweets -> All you need to do is cut, paste and schedule!    It's that easy!

What does your "Twitter Game Plan" Look Like?
The overall objective of the game plan is that for people, otherwise known as attedees, otherwise known as "potential clients" or "current clients" will be searching @Twitter for show information.  The TGP puts you and your booth at the top of that search.  How?
Well for every event there is a @Twitter Handle and #Hashtag. Every Event is hosted by an organization. They have a @Twitter handle and #Hashtag as well. Guess what? If the hall is big enough -> It has a @Twitter handle and #Hashtag as well. The city the event is in? You Bet!
And once you start engaging - well there is a method to this madness as well. I will not discuss the pre-event marketing you have to accomplish 6 months out. Or one month out. Or 1 day out.
No one cares how many followers you have - this activity is for those searching during the event. Hashtag and Handle with your booth number over and over again.
Distribution is free, you can set these up ahead of schedule - helps people find you.
And it helps with Tradeshow Hack #1.

Note: If your brand known for the products and services and there is no way the #Marketing Gods will allow you access to the @Twitter handle for the company, service or product? Get an "event" handle for the company. Tie into the main marketing channels for your company, but you get to have fun with it! There is so many ways to slice this hack. #exhibit #display #kansascity #missouri #marketing #brand #kansas #YourBrandOurBusiness #exhibitassociates

Value vs Cost on Tradeshow Hacks!

Actually they are not free - they cost time. Plan them out, the amount of time can be small, but they still

costs. That is where Value comes into play.

What is the value of social media? Planning out your exhibit schedule? Following Up?
What is the cost of not following up?

What is the cost of having nobody manning your tradeshow booth during the hall hours?

What if, and just play along here - if you utilize multiple channels to let people know you are going? (Hack #1) What if you layout a plan so your tradeshow booth is manned 100% of the time the hall is open? (Hack #2) What if you set a metric that all leads are contacted within 5 business days and 1st meetings are within 30 days? (Hack #3) What if you plan ahead and plan out shirts, graphics and marketing materials for you booth? (Hack #4).

What is the value in that!?!

Corporate Display

There is so much hype these days. Be bigger. Be an industry leader. Have a ping pong table in your break area to show potential employees and clients how much you value culture.

None of that matters if your employees dread working for your company.

Here is a photo of a corporate display. Simple. Communicates to the potential client or employee and most importantly the current employees.

Not every corporate display has to break the bank.

Throwing It Back!

Exhibit Associates is currently working on two tradeshow booths, a corporate timeline, updates to a museum exhibit, prepping for a brand activation and other projects. Sounds great.

The Team is hard at work thanks to our corporate history. Since 1978 Exhibit Associates has been doing this. It is this history that allow that we are throwing it back. Clients come and go, Team Members arrive, leave, retire, etc. Even Ownership changed back in 2012. But throughout the years the Exhibit Associates Team has designed, built, managed and installed a lot of projects and the one consistent trait is we like to have fun while doing it.

Life is too short. We build fun stuff thanks to great clients. And we enjoy the journey everyday. Yes some days are longer than others, but some are way more awesome than others.

Enjoy these pictures.

Kindergarten Skills!

One of the challenges for any exhibit house such as Exhibit Associates is finding the right people. Team members that say "That's not my job" really are not a fit for this industry. Team members that can relate to the skills they learned in Kindergarten are a fit.

Drawing with crayons and playing with clay are not the primary skills you need. But playing with A/V Kiosks, LED Lights, Carpet & Padding, and a host of other "talents" are required.
One great talent is looking at a design, and trying to mentally get it into crates that will fit inside a standard 53' trailer. Along with that how to best fit it in that crate so the set-up crew is not throwing darts at a picture of you by the end of the set.

Try to define that Process!

Like a Kindergarten Teachers Lesson Plan - there is a Process. The process aids in planning. Planning leads into execution. Whether it is playing with clay, or setting up a booth, there is a path to success. Process -> Planning -> Execution -> Success! Simple right!

With the right team, with the right "Kindergarten Skills" it is simple. Good Luck!

Tradeshows Takes Teams!

The 1st Team is The Exhibitor Team: Marketing, Sales & Finance for the Exhibitor.

The 2nd Team is the Tradeshow Team!
The Tradeshow Team is responsible for making sure the tradeshow goes off without a hitch. !

All tradehows start the same.

A blank floor. An empty hall. Nothing else. Behind the scenes it's different. The show manager (Fern, Freeman, Shepard, Grit, GES, etc.) has been working hard behind the scenes to make sure there will be enough forklifts and people to get it all done. Printers have been working producing the signage to direct you to the tradeshow from the hotels, signage in the rafters letting you know the aisle numbers. Plus all the sponsorship signage. Lot's of work done to by Tradeshow Team.

And it is the Exhibitor Team has been busy as well. Planning the graphics for the tradeshow booth. Planning the booth. Planning the people who will be there. Has marketing and sales been working at sending the emails and direct mail to attendees? Is social media where it needs to be. Is the setup crew ready? Shipping? Insurance? The exhibitor has to get marketing. sales and finance all on board. And remember nothing moves without finance!

Both teams work hard right up to the point of opening. So 15 minutes before the show opens all the work is done getting ready for the tradeshow. Everything looks great. Shirts pressed. Product looking good. A/V up and on point.

Shall we talk about "the down" and Driver check in and shipping?

I'll save that for another post!

Training Is Part of the Equation!

At Exhibit Associates our goal is to be part of our client's team. To assist them in the execution of the exhibit at a trade show eve...
